For this project the class was divided into groups of four and told to build "something" with all the blocks on the table. Initially this was a bit confusing because no one knew what to do. In my group, we each began building separately. When we began to work together it was a spontaneous chaotic collaboration, as everyone shouted out what they liked. As we began building we decided on a color scheme for the interior structure and then realized we needed to use all the other blocks as well. In the end we had a warm color ring, around a multicolored wall structure, surrounding a cool color pyramid-esque structure.
Our group was on their feet within seconds of beginning the project. While we worked there was a carefree flow of ideas that ultimately led to a rather interesting structure. Unfortunately, while interesting, our structure was difficult to draw. After building, we were asked to draw our structure with pencils, sharpie, and/or marker. With so many tilted blocks and spacing, it was a difficult task and we wished we had built something more streamlined. As we worked on the drawings it was interesting to see how each person took a different view. While some of us wanted to include the whole structure, some zoomed in, I left the impression of blocks while others refined each individual block. The various interpretations of the same structure were interesting to see.
