The second and third graders read a book called, ISH by Peter H. Reynolds. It’s about learning our drawings don’t always have to look perfect, sometimes they just look “ish” and that’s great too! We also talked about how students could encourage others in the artroom by saying nice things. Then everyone made their own “ish” self-portrait using LINE. We crumpled them up and painted them to show lots of TEXTURE. and COLOR.
OH NO MY PAPER RIPPED!
MRS. ANDERSON WHAT DO I DO?!
This was a learning process for many of the students in realizing that if something doesn't work, it's okay! When someones paper ripped we just said, "OH WELL! It's more ish-ish now!"
It was hard for some of the students to accept at first but there was very little panicking. I was so proud of them! Great Job Dragons!
