Inspired by the work of artists, Claude Monet, the kindergarten and first graders created their own water lily artworks. We used our circle making skills we learned in The Dot to make water lilies with crayons. The students learned about PROPORTION with SPACE. Lily pads further away are smaller than the ones close to us.Then we painted blue paint over the top to make water. Paint doesn’t stick to crayon, that’s called a “resist”, so our lily pads were visible even after we painted them.
